★We’re looking for string players!★

For our 6th concert, we’ll be taking on a grand program featuring Respighi’s symphonic poem *The Pines of Rome* and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, *Choral*.

*The Pines of Rome* is a masterpiece that depicts four scenes of Rome through richly colored orchestration. Its brilliant and powerful sound is brimming with a charm that can only be fully appreciated by a large orchestra. In the second half, we will perform the *Ninth*, which celebrates human love and joy. For this concert, we have formed a special alumni choir from the Tokyo Six Universities, and the orchestra, choir, and soloists will come together as one to deliver a moving finale.

Conducting the performance is Shigenori Miyanmatsu, who has extensive experience guiding both orchestras and choirs. While striving for musical excellence, he provides warm, personalized guidance to each amateur musician, ensuring that every rehearsal is a fulfilling experience.

Guided by our motto, “Do interesting things with all our might,” our group values not only the performances but also the camaraderie among participants. Since we open membership to the public for each concert, many participants are first-timers; at our 5th concert, 56 out of 115 members were first-time participants. Through social gatherings and rehearsals, members naturally bond, and by the time of the performance, they come together as friends—transcending universities and generations—to create music as one.

At our 5th concert, held in March 2026, we welcomed approximately 700 audience members—our largest attendance to date. Building on that momentum, for our 6th concert, we will take on the monumental works *The Pines of Rome* and *The Ninth Symphony*, filled with the passion and sense of unity characteristic of the Tokyo Six Universities Alumni Orchestra.

This concert is packed with both the passion that reminds us of our student days and the deep appreciation for music that comes from our current lives as working professionals. Please come to the venue and enjoy our “serious celebration.”
