NHK Symphony Orchestra, 2089th Subscription Concert, Program C Unofficial

Program C of the NHK Symphony Orchestra’s 2089th Subscription Concert is the fifth installment in a series of performances of Beethoven’s complete piano concertos, commemorating the 200th anniversary of his death. The concert will feature the distinguished conductor Thomas Guggais and piano virtuoso Kirill Gerstein, who will perform Beethoven’s masterpiece, Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor.” Furthermore, the second half will feature Richard Strauss’s symphonic poem “A Hero’s Life,” which makes full use of his overwhelming orchestration, as the NHK Symphony Orchestra’s exquisite and powerful sound envelops the hall.
