This is the 183rd performance of the popular "Chamber Music Series" produced by New Japan Philharmonic orchestra members themselves. Produced by percussionist Makoto Shibahara, this year's program will be a special interweaving of music and recitations under the theme of "Words and Sounds. In addition to the premiere of a commissioned work by Wakiko Koide, the program will include Stravinsky's masterpiece "A Soldier's Tale. The program will be read and narrated by Toru Kalei, and the diverse instrumentation will bring out new expressions of the music in this extravaganza. A pre-concert talk by the performers is scheduled before the performance, allowing the audience to learn more about the background of the works and the intention of the project. We hope you will enjoy a deep artistic experience in the intimate space of the small hall, where sound and story meld together.
