Master musician Sylvain Cambourin vividly depicts the diverse brilliance of 20th century music. The first half begins with Bartók's "Butoh Suite," a piece that pulses with the soul of folk music, followed by Ravel's difficult Piano Concerto, in which the talented pianist Tomoki Sakata takes on a large orchestra with only his left hand. The second half will feature Stravinsky's masterpiece "The Firebird" Suite (1945 version), with the condensed colors of the 1945 version and Cambourin's exquisite tact recreating the story in dramatic fashion. The Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra will perform this program, which will allow the audience to experience the vivid rhythmic and colorful transformation of the work.
