Hideki Togi 30th Anniversary Tour
TOGISM of Eternity and Innovation
2027/12/26(su.) 15:00 Starting
This concert tour commemorates the 30th anniversary of Hideki Togi, one of Japan's leading masters of gagaku (ancient Japanese court music). The theme of the first part is "Silk Road," which traces the origin of music. The melodies spun by ancient instruments are Japanese gagaku, but they also contain memories of the world that has passed from East to West. The melodies spun by ancient instruments, such as sho, Hichiriki, dragon flute, biwa, and other instruments from the ancient Silk Road, are performed on a unique stage that can only be heard here. In the second part, the sound transforms into rock, intersecting with western band sounds while keeping the Japanese resonance at the core, fusing the past and the future, the world and Japan on one stage. The performance by Togi's son, Norichika Togi, a guitarist and Gagaku (traditional Japanese court music) player, will also be featured, and the father-son collaboration will be the very image of music being spun and passed on to the next generation. This is a special concert where you can feel the "now" of Hideki Togi and dream together of what is to come through his classics, past works, and new pieces.
