This concert focuses on the golden age of music that flourished in Spain during the Age of Discovery. Beata Musica Tokiensis will perform works by composers such as Victoria, Morales, and Guerrero—representative figures of the Renaissance—as well as pieces by Esquivel and Pérez. The ensemble will present a collection of devotional songs, rooted in deep faith, through their refined ensemble playing. Additionally, a pre-concert lecture by Mr. Hide Nagaoka is scheduled, offering an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the musical context of the era. Please enjoy the rich sounds of Spanish Renaissance music and its spiritual essence to your heart’s content. Please note that preschool-aged children are not permitted to attend. This will be a precious opportunity to fully experience the charm of early music.
Program
The program is subject to change without notice. A lecture by Hideo Nagaoka will be held starting 15 minutes before the performance begins.
