This Christmas, the sounds of an ensemble featuring Sota Sakaguchi (trumpet), Shunsuke Ota (oboe), and Sayuri Hozumi (piano) will ring out from the clock tower!
From the beloved Christmas classic “The Nutcracker” to other Christmas tunes you’ve surely heard at least once on the streets or on TV, we’ll bring you these songs with the rich, colorful tones of the trumpet, oboe, and piano.
Whether you’re coming alone or with someone else,

[Do the sounds of the trumpet and oboe really go together?]
Many of you reading this page are probably wondering that, aren’t you? And it’s no wonder. The trumpet—a brass instrument—and the oboe—a woodwind instrument—are a combination of instruments that differ completely in how they produce sound, their timbre, and their volume.

We’ve held three recitals so far with this somewhat unusual combination. Post-performance surveys included many comments such as, “I was surprised at how well they matched—more than I imagined,” and “The blend of the trumpet, oboe, and piano was truly impressive.” Please come to the venue and experience for yourself the mysterious and richly colored sound created by these instruments, which at first glance might seem like polar opposites.
