The classical guitar is an instrument with an incredibly wide-ranging repertoire.
In this concert, I will perform arrangements of Chopin’s famous piano “Nocturnes,” Bach’s monumental “Chaconne,” and “Differencias on ‘The Moon Over the Ruined Castle’”—a bold arrangement of this Japanese classic, which is also sung as a hymn in Belgium.
In addition, interspersed with memorable film scores, I will take you on a journey to various worlds with just a single guitar.

Soichi Muraji (Classical Guitar)

In 1998, he won first prize at the 41st Tokyo International Guitar Competition and numerous other competitions. After graduating at the top of his class from the Walnut Hill School in 2003, he went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music. Upon graduation, he received the Andrés Segovia Award. That same year, he was selected as a soloist for the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra’s “New World Tour.” Since then, he has been active in a wide range of endeavors, including various tours, recitals, and chamber music performances, as well as collaborations with orchestras both in Japan and abroad—such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra—along with numerous media appearances and the composition and performance of theme songs. In recent years, he has unveiled his own ChatGPT-based AI avatar, “A.I. Soichi Muraji,” which has garnered attention as a new form of interaction with fans. He is also actively engaged in activities that extend beyond the realm of music, such as serving as a tourism ambassador for his hometown of Taito Ward, Tokyo. He celebrated the 20th anniversary of his debut in June 2023 and released two new albums in 2024: “TONES 2019+” and “Travel Snaps 2024—Picking Felicidade—.” He is currently on a nationwide concert tour in 2026.
