Japan-Germany Koto Friends Association International Sommerakademie 2026 Festival Concert 2

The “International Sommerakademie,” organized by the Japan-Germany Music Friends Association, is an eight-day intensive workshop where the next generation of conductors and vocalists hone their skills alongside a professional orchestra. This concert, which serves as the culmination of the program, will showcase the fresh and vibrant performances refined through the workshop. This year’s theme centers on the music of Gustav Mahler, featuring a selection of masterpieces that pose profound questions about love and loss, as well as life and death. The program promises to be diverse and rich, including Beethoven’s “Egmont” Overture, Brahms’s Haydn Variations, and Kodály’s Galanta Dances.
