Sapporo Symphony Orchestra: “Giving Shape to Connections” Concert 2026 Unofficial

The Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Hokkaido’s only professional orchestra, will present a spectacular orchestral concert. The concert will be conducted by Kazufumi Yamashita and will feature two talented young soloists based in Hokkaido: Mifuki Watanabe and Yui Mikami. The program opens with an opera overture by Nikolai and features a lavish lineup of two masterpieces of the piano concerto repertoire: Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Please enjoy the dramatic melodies woven together by the orchestra and the piano to the fullest. This event is organized by Ai Plan, a corporate patron of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, and was conceived with the hope of promoting and developing local culture through music. We invite you to spend an elegant and moving evening in the Grand Hall of the Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara. Tickets are available at the Kitara Ticket Center and the concert office. Please note that children of preschool age are not permitted to attend.
