This introductory course, which consistently attracts nearly 100 applicants—far exceeding its capacity—allows participants to learn together about performing in an orchestra, culminating in a performance on the final day. With an instrument-trying corner and basic instrument lessons available, even complete beginners are welcome to participate.
With designated pieces for both the beginner and intermediate courses—and the beginner course featuring arrangements that include parts specifically for beginners—everyone from novices to experienced musicians can fully enjoy playing in an orchestra at their own level.
Participants will learn not only how to perform but also about the basics of orchestras, try out various instruments, and experience conducting—covering a wide range of musical topics.
While applications are open to non-residents of Shinagawa Ward, if the number of applicants exceeds capacity, a lottery will be held, with priority given to Shinagawa Ward residents.
