This is a rare, once-a-year festival of plucked string instruments that brings together master musicians of the oud, lute, and guitar. Set in the Jiyu Gakuen Asu-kan Auditorium—a National Important Cultural Property—we present a musical journey tracing the roots of the guitar. The diverse program ranges from the profound sounds of Arabic music performed by Yuji Tsunami, to the delicate melodies of the lute played by Toru Sakurada, to a program commemorating the 400th anniversary of Dowland’s death featuring vocal performances by Miho Oshiro, and finally to the virtuoso guitar performances by Anri Shibata and Daisuke Suzuki. Please enjoy this special moment where the history and individuality of each instrument intersect, all within the refined setting of a historic building. This concert, which unravels the history of plucked string instruments and allows you to fully experience their charm, is a special event not to be missed by music lovers. Refined tones and a pleasant atmosphere will invite you into a profound musical experience. Please note that children of preschool age are not permitted to attend.
