This concert explores the allure of the historic French palace of Versailles from both architectural and musical perspectives. Accompanied by beautiful slides, the program will provide commentary on the palace’s history and the turbulent historical context of the era. On the musical side, a group of early music performers will come together to present an ensemble performance of numerous masterpieces that graced the era from Louis XIII to Louis XVI. The instrument used is a French double-manual Bronce (crafted by Masahiro Adachi), featuring the exquisite sound characteristic of the Baroque style. The aesthetic beauty of the architecture and the melodies of the period instruments will blend together, inviting the audience on a journey through the splendor of French court culture. We invite you to enjoy a luxurious experience where a deeper understanding of history allows you to appreciate the music from a richer, more multifaceted perspective.
