Solo and accompaniment—it’s all oboe!
A slightly unusual concert featuring the interwoven tones of three types of oboes!
“It’s an ensemble concert, so what does ‘enjoying solos’ mean?” You’re probably reading this page right now, wondering just that.
In this performance, we’ll present “concertos” and “solo pieces”—works typically performed with an orchestra or piano—accompanied by an oboe ensemble.
Oboe, oboe d’amore, English horn…
Through solo pieces in which each instrument takes center stage, you’ll be able to enjoy the unique personalities and charms of these three instruments.
We’re pleased to welcome Mr. Hiromasa Iwasaki, former principal oboist of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, to perform T. Albinoni’s “Oboe Concerto in D Minor, Op. 9 No. 2.”
We present this piece in a special arrangement, with the oboe ensemble and Tomoko Maeda on harpsichord complementing Mr. Iwasaki’s beautiful oboe tone.
Please enjoy this special performance, exclusive to this evening.
