"Ballet Astellas" is a special gala performance held every summer at the New National Theatre, where Japanese dancers active on the world’s leading stages come together. Since its inaugural performance in 2009, it has garnered attention as a rare opportunity to see stars from ballet companies around the world perform together on one stage. Now in its 16th year, the event will feature 16 dancers from eight ballet companies across eight countries, presenting a diverse program ranging from classic ballet masterpieces to contemporary works. One of the highlights will be the collaboration between promising young dancers from the New National Theatre Ballet, students from the La Scala Ballet Academy—who represent the next generation—and trainees from the New National Theatre Ballet Training Institute.
