Chigasaki Symphony Orchestra 86th Regular Concert

On September 6, as the first signs of early autumn begin to appear, the Chigasaki Symphony Orchestra presents its 86th Regular Concert. Under the baton of Junji Yamagami, the orchestra will perform a selection of masterpieces brimming with the spirit of German Romanticism and Bohemian charm. The concert opens with Schumann’s “Manfred” Overture. Based on Byron’s poetic drama, please enjoy its dramatic soundscapes where anguish and fantasy intertwine. Next, the orchestra will perform Dvořák’s “Symphonic Variations.” The ingenuity of the orchestration—where a simple theme unfolds with kaleidoscopic versatility—is a must-hear. Finally, the program concludes with Brahms’ Symphony No. 4. Composed during the composer’s mature period, this masterpiece is imbued with melancholy and passion. Please enjoy to your heart’s content the rich yet delicate world of Brahms’s music, which unfolds right through the final movement. The Chigasaki Symphony Orchestra, which has been deeply rooted in the local community for many years, presents a special evening crafted with passion. Doors open at 1:15 p.m., but patrons with Supporters’ Association tickets and their guests holding tickets may enter starting at 1:00 p.m.
