The 8th Chopin Festival Unofficial

Now in its 8th year, the “Chopin Festival,” organized by the Kansai Branch of the Japan Chopin Society, will once again be held in grand style at the Kawai Umeda Concert Salon “Jue.” This year’s theme is “Etudes, Op. 25 & Posthumous Works.” It offers a valuable opportunity to rediscover Chopin’s works—which are brimming with originality and reflect his constant pursuit of new music—and to delve deeply into the full scope of his artistic legacy. A lineup of accomplished pianists—Noriko Otsuka, Ai Hattori, Maiko Ami, Takashi Ikeuchi, Asako Okamoto, and Madoka Fukami—will come together to perform many of Chopin’s treasured works. The program allows you to fully savor the delicate melodies of the mazurkas and waltzes known as his “posthumous works,” as well as all 12 pieces from the Études, Op. 25, which represent a masterful fusion of technical virtuosity and artistic expression.
