“We want to convey the power of words and the power of music.”

This is the landmark first performance of the new series “The World of Words and Poetry Woven Across Time,” presented by Osaka Collegium Musicum. This performance aims to sincerely transform the heartfelt emotions hidden within words into music and convey them to the audience. Kenji Miyazawa’s anguish and prayers as he gazes upon his beloved younger sister on her deathbed, and the outpouring of a woman’s strong will—and the loneliness that came with it—as she lived through the wartime and postwar eras during her brief seventeen-year life. Now, these words resonate in our hearts as songs.

With Shuichi Toma conducting, the exquisite ensemble of the Osaka Heinrich Schütz Chamber Choir and the Osaka Collegium Musicum Choir, and Akiko Kinoshita on piano, we present “authentic” music that resonates deeply within the heart. The power of poetry, woven across the ages, will envelop the entire venue through the rich resonance of the choir. We invite you to experience this profound worldview—where words and music merge—in person at the venue.
