Yutaka Ito Cello Recital ~ With His Close Friend, Kosuke Akimoto ~

Yutaka Ito’s long-awaited solo recital. He performs beloved pieces alongside his close friend from the Aoi Trio, Kosuke Akimoto.

I am pleased to announce that I will be holding a recital with Kosuke Akimoto, the pianist of the Aoi Trio, with whom I always make music.
The program features Prokofiev’s Cello Sonata as the centerpiece, with the first half combining works by Prokofiev, Poulenc—with whom Prokofiev shared a close personal and professional friendship—and Debussy, whom Poulenc deeply admired.
The delicate colors of Impressionism, the refined esprit unique to French music, and the rich lyricism of Russian music. While each composer possesses a distinct personality, all three share a deep love for the cello and a common longing for melodies that sing like the human voice.
I hope that through these works, you will be able to sense the composers’ individuality and the connections that transcend time.
