Chiharu Abe Concert - Baroque Violin, Viola d'Amore

This time, in memory of Yoshiko Kikuchi, who passed away in December, we will perform unaccompanied German Baroque music with Baroque violin and viola d'amore. For a quarter of a century, she warmly watched over me, helping me plan concerts in Japan and sometimes giving me harsh criticism. She was one of my benefactors in my life, and I am forever grateful to her. We have also added a piece on the viola d'amore, an instrument that Yoshiko loved in her later years.

I would like to perform the music from the historical background to understand why German Baroque music is so deeply introspective. We look forward to seeing you at the concert.
