Beethoven, Brahms, and Chopin presented by a pianist based in Germany

2026/07/10(Fr.) 19:00 Starting

Daikanyama Church Church HallTokyo

This is a solo recital by pianist Tsuzumi Namikawa (濤川鼓), who is based in Germany and performs throughout Europe.

Raised in Germany since the age of 9, TSUZUMI TAOGAWA completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Hanover University of Music and Drama. She is currently enrolled in the National Performer Certificate Program at the same university. She has won first prize at the Marienbad Chopin International Piano Competition (Czech Republic), first prize at the Bechstein International Piano Competition (Germany), and many other international competitions. She has also received the Louis Spohr Music Prize from the city of Braunschweig, Germany, and has performed throughout Europe, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Finland.

In this concert, they will perform Beethoven's "Farewell" (Piano Sonata No. 26), Brahms' "Three Interludes, Op. 117" and Chopin's "Piano Sonata No. 3, Op. 58".

Beethoven's "Farewell," which depicts parting and reunion, Brahms' "Three Interludes" from his later years that reflect the deep introspection of life, and Chopin's "Piano Sonata No. 3," which is a condensation of poetic sentiment and grand scale. Through these masterpieces, each of which is highly artistic in its own right, we will present the rich world of 19th century piano music.

The venue is Daikanyama Church Hall, a 5-minute walk from Daikanyama Station. We hope you will enjoy the performance of this young pianist who has been studying in Europe in a space filled with warm resonance.
