Hitotsubashi University Orchestra Summer Concert 2026

The Hitotsubashi University Orchestra, one of the longest-established amateur orchestras in Japan founded in 1919, will hold its regular concert in the summer of 2026 at the Main Hall of Suginami Public Hall. The appeal of this concert is its powerful performance by a large orchestra of more than 100 members. The program this time includes Sibelius' "Karelia Overture," Suk's "Fantastic Scherzo," and Dvořák's "Symphony No. 7," which is a passionate and distinctive masterpiece. Under the direction of Mayu Sakaki, this performance is expected to showcase the fresh and bold musical expression that only a student orchestra can produce. Pre-school children are not allowed to enter, and all seats are reserved. We hope you will enjoy the traditional sound that the Hitotsubashi University Orchestra has built up over the years in the wonderful acoustic space of the Suginami Public Hall. Tickets will be available on the day of the concert, but advance reservations are recommended whenever possible.
