With the wind from Italy

This is the 54th regular concert of Concordia, a mandolin orchestra for working people founded in 1972. The first and second parts of the concert will share the common theme of "Songs" and will feature songs related to Italy with soprano Yuka Wada as guest singer, as well as the "Vocalise" series by Kenichi Kumagai, a composer. In particular, "The Glory of Japan" by R. Carrache, a precious hymn to Japan written on a boat trip from Japan to Italy, will be performed in an arranged version for the first time. In the third part, we will pursue new possibilities for the mandolin orchestra with the next generation's conductor, Shunya Maruo, and the outstandingly skilled mandolinist, Risa Shimono. Please enjoy to your heart's content the dialogue of passionate and beautiful tones spun across generations and the ensemble's future of Concordia.
