New National Ballet Theatre Ballet Theatre for Children 2026 "The Little Mermaid Unofficial

The 15th performance of the "Ballet Theatre for Children," an initiative of the New National Theatre, Tokyo, to bring outstanding art to the children of the next generation, will be a re-staging of the original ballet based on Andersen's masterpiece "The Little Mermaid," which was first performed in the world in 2024. Choreographed by Tetsuo Kaikawa, a longtime member of the New National Theatre Ballet Company, this sad love story depicts the joys and sorrows of love and the absurdity of the world of the Little Mermaid, who yearns for the human world.
