This is the fourth performance in pianist Nanako Sugiura's ongoing series of "Ancient and Modern Japanese Piano Sonatas". This series will feature piano sonatas by Japanese composers and introduce their charms.
This year's performance will feature the "Piano Sonata" by Miyoshi Akira, a masterpiece representing Japanese piano sonatas, and the new "Piano Sonata" commissioned from composer Nakagawa Toshiro. Akira Miyoshi and Toshiro Nakagawa have a master-disciple relationship. Toshiro Nakagawa's new work will have its world premiere in this performance.
