About Takashi Kokubo
A leading Japanese environmental musician and sound designer, Takashi Kokubo has been exploring sounds that connect nature and human sensibilities since the 1980s, and has established an international reputation in the fields of environmental music and sound design.

As a sound designer, he has been involved in a wide variety of projects. In particular, the warning sound for Japan's earthquake early warning system is a representative sound design widely recognized in society.

In 2020, he participated in the compilation "Environmental Music (Kankyō Ongaku)" by the US label Light in the Attic. This work was nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Best Historical Album" category and served as an opportunity to enhance the international reputation of environmental music.

In 2023, he created the sound logo for the City of Yokohama.
The sound can be heard at Yokohama City Hall, the Yokohama Municipal Subway, and other locations.
