Ensemble Amoibe vol.66 Schoenberg Series vol.5 Unofficial
Schoenberg's Fellowship
2026/07/13(mo.) 19:00 Starting
Lutheran Ichigaya Hall (Tokyo)

This performance, the fifth in the Schoenberg series (7 concerts in total), focuses on the period when Schoenberg's style underwent a major transition from late Romanticism to atonal and twelve-tone technique. Schoenberg's String Trio, written in the last years of his life, is considered one of his masterpieces, using the twelve-tone technique but never losing its romanticism. His student Anton Webern's String Trio is a geometric yet dramatic work. The contrast between stillness and movement, and the players' back-and-forth action, will be fully appreciated. In addition to Schoenberg-Webern works that have been well received in the past, works by Schoenberg's pupils and those who studied under him, such as Eisler, Skalkottas, and Johann Nepomuk Dafydt, will be presented with a lecture by Mr. Takayuki Komuro. Performed by the Tokyo Hakuju Hall-based trio of Mayuko Ishigami, Ena Naka, and Haruma Sato. The trio's string trios by Schoenberg and Webern, which were well received at their debut performance, are a must-see.
