The 3rd Hiroshima International Conducting Competition Unofficial

The 3rd Hiroshima International Conducting Competition will be held as the main project of the music section of the 3rd Hiroshima International Peace Culture Festival. The purpose of the competition is to broaden opportunities for exchange to nurture young musicians who will lead the next generation, to discover and nurture outstanding human resources, and to open the door to the world. Young conductors from Japan and abroad are invited to participate in the competition, and participants are selected after a preliminary screening based on video images. Before the competition, participants will learn about the history of Hiroshima and its efforts for peace by attending the Peace Memorial Ceremony, the "Evening for Peace" concert, and other events. They will also participate in a master class by Mr. Tatsuya Shimono on the subject of the piece for the preliminary selection. Afterwards, the first preliminary contest, second preliminary contest, and final contest (final concert) will be held in a hall with an audience. This project is not merely a competition, but also a place for young musicians to gather and interact with each other.
