Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble New Step "Nouvelle Nagaokakyo
Music Director Aki Soliere
2026/07/17(Fr.) 19:00 Starting
Nagaokakyo Memorial Cultural Hall, Kyoto (Kyoto)
Official https://www.musiccem.org/
This concert commemorates the launch of a new project, "Nouvelle Nagaokakyo," which carries on the spirit of the Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble founded by the late Yuko Mori in 1997.
In this performance, Aki Sorière, a founding member and now internationally active as a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, will carry on the legacy of Mori. For this performance, the founding members who were taught by Mori, the musicians who have joined the ensemble since then, and up-and-coming young musicians who studied in Europe and grew up under Aki Solielle and are now active as professionals in Japan and abroad will come together from Japan and abroad.
Inheriting Mori's lifelong dream to "continue to be a performing group that nurtures the next generation and transmits culture from the countryside," we will present chamber music of the highest caliber.

Inheritance" of tradition and new "challenge
The Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble presents a special program deeply connected with the history of the Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble.
In works by Bartók and Suk, both of whom we have recorded in the past, we will pass on our tradition to the next generation by combining the experience we have accumulated with our founder, Yuko Mori, with the fresh sensibility of our young players.
Furthermore, we will take on the challenge of performing Mozart's string quartets for string ensemble.
We sincerely look forward to sharing with you the passionate sounds that mirror our journey from the past to the future.
See you at the venue in July.
