Ritsumeikan University Symphony Orchestra 135th Regular Concert

A New Road" is the title of a critical review written by Brahms' teacher, Robert Schumann, and it made Brahms, who was nearly unknown at the time, strongly known to the world as a person who would carry the future of German music.
This performance of Brahms' Symphony No. 3 is the first time for the Ritsumeikan University Symphony Orchestra to perform this work, and represents a new challenge for the orchestra.
The orchestra, which celebrated its 70th anniversary last year, has been making new efforts such as summer opera performances, and the progress of the orchestra, which continues to take on new challenges with pride in its traditions, overlaps with the "new road" in the classical music world that Brahms paved.
In addition to Brahms' 3rd Symphony, this concert will feature a composer from Italy, a country that Brahms loved, who like Brahms paved a new path for classical music.
