Bach's summit, to six universes

As a young child, I was moved by Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, and this is what led me to the cello.
I have encountered many works and people in many different environments, and I have been constantly changing as I have been inspired by all of them. This suite has always been by my side, quietly watching over my growth, my hesitations, and everything in between. When I play it, I feel that it is like a mirror reflecting me as I am at that moment.
Written some 300 years ago, there is little solid information about it, and it is open to a thousand different interpretations. However, there is certainly something pure and universal in it that moved me as a young child with little life experience. That is the charm of this work for me.
I am honored to be able to share the long journey of performing all the pieces in the same space and time with you all. I am sincerely looking forward to seeing how the Bach that resonates in the hall will resonate within each and every one of you. (Message by Michiaki Ueno)
