cello concert

We will bring you beautiful sounds in the beautiful season of blue leaves.
In this concert, you will enjoy a number of masterpieces played with the soft and deep tones of the cello, as well as a collaborative performance with taiko drums.
The cellist Yoshifumi Aizumi, who is active both in Japan and abroad, will perform, and Rimpei Yamaguchi will play the taiko drums.

Yoshifumi ARIZUMI (Cello)
Born in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, ARIZUMI Yoshifumi began studying the cello at the age of two and a half, and at the age of 17 moved to Germany (Cologne) to further his studies. After returning to Japan, he completed the diploma course at Toho Gakuen School of Music, and then went to France. He was allowed to advance to the soloist course at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris after winning the first prize in the graduation examination of the cello and chamber music department of the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Graduated from the Conservatoire de Musique in the 12th arrondissement of Paris (Paul Dukas) in the chamber music department. Entered the Regional Conservatory of Boulogne, France. First prize in the graduation examination and acceptance into the research program, followed by graduation. He won the second prize at the UFAM International Competition in France.
His main performance activities are as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra extraordinaire. He is also active in teaching solo and chamber music, junior orchestras and string ensembles, and is invited nationwide as a guest instructor for competitions and classes, either as a performer or co-instructor, and sometimes as a jury member.

*Rimpei Yamaguchi (Wadaiko)
Rimpei Yamaguchi began playing taiko at a very young age, having been fascinated by the performances of Amano Noboru & Araraku, the head masters of the Amano school. He made his professional debut as a member of Arhat at the same time he graduated from high school, and in 2018 he became an associate master of the Zenkoku Amano School of Wadaiko. He has performed in concerts and events in Japan and abroad, as well as on TV, radio, and commercials. He not only plays taiko, but also performs collaboration with western instruments such as violin and cello.
In addition to his performance activities, he also composes music and promotes taiko through workshops and taiko teams such as the National Amano-kai.
