As part of the Summer Festival 2026 celebrating the 40th anniversary of Suntory Hall, a chamber music portrait of the theme composer Luca Francesconi will be held. This performance, the 48th in the Suntory Hall International Composition Commission Series, will feature a diverse group of works by Francesconi, performed by a distinguished cast including Leela Josefowitz on violin. The exciting program includes "Traces" for alto saxophone, "Sway-Action" for cello, and "Animus (Soul/Breath) 2" with electronics, all of which are at the forefront of contemporary music. This will be a rare opportunity to experience Francesconi's musical exploration and deepening through works from different compositional eras. We hope you will fully enjoy the new fascination of contemporary music in the intimate setting of the Blue Rose.
