🎻A concert that brings together friends who continue to seriously face their instruments. This time it will be held in Hiratsuka🎺.

On June 6, 2026, "Kanagawa Prefecture Citizens' Amateur Orchestra Festival Vol.2" will be held at Hiratsuka Central Community Center.

Background of Kanagawa Prefecture Citizens' Amateur Orchestra Festival
The Kanagawa Prefecture Citizens' Amateur Orchestra Festival was born out of a sincere wish to "expand the Kanagawa area into a place where music lovers who continue to seriously face their instruments can gather," led by music lovers who live or work in Kanagawa and have some connection with the prefecture.

We define "amateur" as "a person who loves music and strives to improve through uncompromising practice," rather than as a mere hobbyist. We are seeking to see how far we can go in pursuit of music of the highest purity within a limited number of rehearsals at a number of excellent halls in Kanagawa Prefecture. This project was born as a place to take on this challenge.

Recreate the enthusiasm of Vol. 1
In December 2025, Vol. 1 was held at the Totsuka Ward Citizens' Cultural Center Sakura Plaza Hall, and challenged the audience to perform "Jupiter" by Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, and Mozart. The sense of unity that was hard to believe for the first time and the energy the players put into each note were warmly applauded by those in attendance, who described it as "a sincere sound that transcended the boundaries of amateurism. The enthusiastic response we received that day is the driving force behind this year's Vol. 2.

Highlights of Vol. 2: The Essence of Classical Music and Colorful Melodies
This second edition of the program will be even more in-depth.

Beethoven: Overture "Coriolan
The opening of this work is full of tension, with a mixture of intensity and tragedy, as if defying fate.

Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 2
A hidden masterpiece with a stylish and refined French musical flavor and an original composition.

Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 3 "Scotland
From a fantastic misty landscape to a powerful finale. Continuing from the previous "Fingal's Cave," this is a main dish that pays homage to Mendelssohn.

We hope you will experience the sound of an orchestra spun by Kanagawa music lovers in Hiratsuka. All the members look forward to seeing you at the concert!
