2026/05/04(mo.) 12:00 Starting
A special sumo ring appears at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space! The one and only sumo-themed concert "Fasorashi Dosukoi! Tako Dosukoi!" will be held. The composer unit Japan Association of Composers for Sumo Hearing Arts (JACSHA) will present a new world of music created with an ear to the traditional sound of sumo. In addition to such talented classical composers as soprano Akane Kudo and baritone Takashi Matsudaira, the program will also feature performances by former sumo wrestler Tetsuhiro Matsuda, shamisen player Atsuko Kugimoto, and the Sugamo Children's Chorus. In this special stage where Sumo Jinku and classical music intermingle, the audience not only listens to the music, but also participates by singing and moving their bodies together. This is a program that allows people of all ages to experience the profound appeal of sumo and music with all five senses during the Golden Week holidays.
