Violinist Ikuko Kawai plans, directs, and handles all aspects of the music for this innovative musical stage "musical epic project" that fuses literature and music. This performance will be based on "The Tale of Genji," the world's oldest full-length novel, and will feature performances by Japanese instrumentalists and a string ensemble, as well as a newly staged mono-opera with shadows and storytelling. In the second half, the world's first Japanese-Western mixed orchestra "Hibiki" will appear. The harmony of traditional Japanese sounds and Western instruments will create a dramatic, nostalgic, and new musical world. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind artistic experience on the stage of the New National Theatre, where the souls of performers who transcend genres resonate.
