Mikifumi Kuno, Reo Tsai, Strings and Drums: Musical Instruments in Medieval Paintings Unofficial

The concert will be held at the Haus Sonnenschein Music Hall, a dedicated chamber music hall with one of the best acoustics in Japan since 1986, and will feature medieval music performed by top-notch performers. Performers are Mikifumi Kuno, a master of a wide variety of ancient medieval instruments such as the citre and sinfonia, and Reo Tsai, a master of percussion instruments such as the tombak and daf. The instruments depicted in medieval European psalms and manuscripts will be revived in the present day to play music from hundreds of years ago, such as the cantigas of the Virgin Mary and estampie. The sounds of stringed instruments and drums depicted in paintings of the time spread throughout the beautiful music hall space, transporting the audience to a distant medieval Europe.
