Masahiko Takeda Sound Around 006 "Weavings Unofficial
2026/06/13(sa.) 19:00 Starting
This is the sixth in a series of performances by Kyoto-based artist Masahiko Takeda that crosses electronic sound, contemporary art, and traditional crafts. Against the backdrop of his family's Nishijin textile business, Takeda redefines the act of weaving, weaving elements such as sound, voice, incense, body, and arrangement onto the stage. Together with a variety of collaborators, including vibraphonist Kanna Ashida, sho player Toshiko Ihara, and tea master Fukutaro Nakayama, the theater space will become a temporary loom, creating a serene and experimental moment. Please take your time to enjoy the one-of-a-kind expression in which the performers, audience, and space interact with each other in a time structure reminiscent of Gagaku music and John Cage's philosophy.
