Biwako Hall Vocal Ensemble Opera "The Forest is Alive Unofficial

The New National Theatre, Shiga will present "The Forest is Alive," an opera produced by Biwako Hall of the Shiga Performing Arts Center, as one of the "Regional Invitational Performances" of the New National Theatre, Tokyo. This masterpiece is based on a Russian children's book, with a libretto and music by composer Hikaru Hayashi. Conducted by Tetsuro Saka, performed by the Century Orchestra of Japan, and sung by the talented Biwako Hall Vocal Ensemble, the opera spins a world of gem melodies and familiar Japanese words. The story of a girl who goes to the winter forest to look for snowdrops on the orders of a selfish queen and the 12 moon nymphs she encounters there is a moving one that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Enjoy the heartwarming performance of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes with the rich sound of the chamber orchestra version.
