Old Music Ensemble Ex Novo vol. 23

The 23rd performance by Aix Novo will feature "Stabat Mater," which accompanies the lament of the Virgin Mary as she faces the death of Christ. In addition to the immortal masterpiece said to have been completed by the genius Pergolesi in the final years of his short life (26 years), the program will also feature a rare work by Antonio Maria of the Bononcini family, which will be performed for the first time in Japan. The four-part chorus with soloists and strings will deliver a highly accomplished sound with precise combinations of voices and rich orchestration. We hope you will enjoy the refined atmosphere of Hakuju Hall, where the music of prayer, which has fascinated many composers throughout the ages and continues to move people's souls, will be performed.
