Tokai Baroque Project Chamber Music Series 2026 Baroque No.1
The Life of J.S. Bach in Music No.1 "Prayer
2026/06/03(We.) 14:00 Starting
Chamber Music Series 2026 by Tokai Baroque Project, an ancient music group based in the Tokai region.
The third series will portray Bach not as a great man, but as a human being through his music. He turns his heart to God, creates music, and prays. As a father, he was involved with his family, as a teacher, he guided his students, and as a diligent worker, he devoted himself to his work.
There will be two performances, one at 14:00 and the other at 19:00.
Please register for the performance of your choice.
The first performance, "Prayer," will focus on Bach's relationship with religious music.
Prayer is an integral part of daily life in Western culture.
And it is music rooted in Christianity that is indispensable when discussing Bach.
How did he express his devotion to God in his music?
We will explore the worldview he created through religion and faith.
We will present Bach's masterpieces such as the cantata "My Heart is Drifting in a Sea of Blood," whose beautiful melody resonates in the heart, with the soft tones of ancient instruments. Please enjoy a luxurious moment surrounded by historical sounds. This is a rare opportunity to fully enjoy the deep spirituality and beauty of Baroque music in the intimate space of HITOMI Hall.
Also, as last year, we will be accepting requests for a piece of music.
One piece will be chosen from among the submissions and performed at the concert.
Please let us know the reason for your choice and any episodes you may have.
Please send your request to Tokai Baroque Project at least two months before each performance🎵.
Please look forward to the day of the performance to see which piece will be chosen!
