about Ensemble LUMOS+
Formed in 2019 by players of the same generation who perform mainly in the Kansai area.
The six members are Yoshi Nomura on flute, Shoka Higuchi on oboe, Natsumi Hirakawa on clarinet, Umesu Ii on horn, Shota Takashima on bassoon, and Nao Vianoda on bianoda.
The group's name, Lumos, is derived from the magic spell "lumos," which appears in the popular fantasy series "Harry Potter" to light the way ahead, and the group was named Lumos with the hope of lighting up the hearts of those who listen to them.
The first concert will be held in December 2019 with a woodwind quintet. In June 2022, the quintet was upgraded and reunited as a sextet "LUMOS+" with the addition of a new piano.
At the third concert in September 2024, the group pursued new expressions both acoustically and visually by performing in an "orchestral arrangement" that was not bound by the conventional arrangement of a wood quintet (sextet), but was the result of a series of independent trial and error, and was well received.
