Opera "Snow Woman" to be heard in Ome City, the place associated with Koizumi Yakumo's "Snow Woman

A special fusion of literature and music will be presented in Ome City, Tokyo, the setting of Koizumi Yakumo's masterpiece "The Snow Woman," with a lecture by a leading Koizumi Yakumo researcher and a performance by talented musicians.

Ome, the city where his masterpiece "The Snow Woman" originated, and Matsue, the city that nurtured Hearn's soul. We will present a special day connecting these two cities through music and literature.

The first part of the program will feature famous Japanese songs favored by Yakumo and Nordgren's piano solo "Yuki-Onna," while Akiko Kawasumi will give a special lecture in the second part of the program. In the third part, artists from Ome and Matsue will perform a short story opera "Snow Onna" together.
