Winterreise 《 Winter Journey

Richard Lesch, a tenor from Germany, and Diego Caetano, a pianist from Brazil, met by chance on a regional train in Switzerland on June 10, 2016. Only 20 minutes into the journey, they vowed that one day they would perform "Winter Journey" together, and this was the beginning of this project. After a life spanning two continents, a busy performance schedule, and a pandemic, the long-held wish came to fruition in this recital.

Franz Schubert composed "Winterreise" in 1827, and it is one of the most profound works in the repertoire of songs. Based on a poem by Wilhelm Müller, it consists of 24 songs about lost love, loneliness, anxiety, and inner conflict. The interpretations are diverse and reflect the life and emotions of each performer.

It has been exactly 10 years since our first encounter.
We are pleased to present the promised "Winter Journey," which has become the starting point of the festival.
