Aristo Sham Piano Recital
Winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition 2025, Aristo Sham visits Japan for the first time!
2026/05/08(Fr.) 19:00 Starting
Aristo Shamu is a young pianist who has captured the world's attention by winning both the highest gold medal and the Audience Prize at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
The New York Times called his performance "a performance of clarity, grace, and virtuosity," while another review said, "Noble--that was the adjective that kept coming to mind as I listened to him play. The musicality that captivated both critics and audiences can be described as the ideal form of contemporary pianism.
After receiving his B.A. from Harvard University in 2019 and his M.M. from the New England Conservatory of Music in 2020, he continued his studies at the Ingessund Conservatory in Sweden and received an Artist Diploma from the Juilliard School of Music.
This performance is Aristo Sham's long-awaited first visit to Japan.
The program will include "Chaconne," a work of extreme spirituality and beauty of construction, Ravel's "Gaspar de l'Oeil," a mixture of fantasy and devilish technique, and a Brahms work filled with deep lyricism and grandeur.
We hope you will come and experience the "now" of this world-renowned talent at the concert venue.
