Waseda University Piano Society Presents Experimental Concert 2026
Ars Pergit ~ Baroque and Modern in Conjunction
2026/02/05(Th.) 19:00 Starting
B201 Hall, Waseda University Student Center (Tokyo)
An experimental concert by the elite members of the Waseda University Piano Society, one of the largest piano circles in Japan.
In the experimental concert, we will pursue new possibilities of expression in programming and staging, and flexibly explore new concert forms from the standpoint of amateur student performers.
The theme of the first experimental concert is "Ars pergit: Baroque and Modern in Relation to Ars Pergit. Ars pergit" is a Latin phrase meaning "art goes on. The Baroque, which is the real starting point of classical music, is not divided from the contemporary music in which we live. At first glance, contemporary music may have an image of being difficult to approach or difficult to understand, but we hope that this concert will soften the image of contemporary music by discovering its continuity with baroque music and the commonalities between the two.
