Shinjuku Philharmonic Orchestra 93rd Subscription Concert
2026/05/10(su.) 14:00 Starting
The Shinjuku Philharmonic Orchestra is an amateur orchestra founded in 1976.
Since its foundation, the orchestra has held its first through sixty-six subscription concerts on a self-managed basis without relying on specific sponsors, with a program centering on works from the German Classical and Romantic periods, and has completed performances of symphonies by Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms, as well as Beethoven's piano concertos in their entirety.
The ensemble performs mainly at the Shinjuku Bunka Center on Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and holds regular concerts twice a year in the spring and fall.
In 2026, the group will celebrate its 50th anniversary with two concerts.
In the spring, we will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 "Fate" and Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 "with Organ" with Maestro Masato Nagata, who has been with us for some time.
We will be practicing so that we can welcome and enjoy many guests at the Shinjuku Bunka Center, which was reopened last fall.
