Takaoka Citizens Cultural Promotion Organization Opera "Yakamochi Unofficial

The opera "Yakamochi," a masterpiece by Kazuhiko Onoe, a proud Japanese genius, will be performed in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, the city associated with him. It is a fantastic stage depicting the love, thoughts, and conflicts of Otomo no Iemochi, a historical figure also known as the selector of the Manyoshu (The Anthology of Myriad Leaves). As a special performance commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Takaoka Shimin Bunka Shinko Jigyodan, the performance will be held in the main hall of the Takaoka Bunka Hall in Toyama Prefecture, depicting Iemochi's strange fate with magnificent music in Takaoka, the place where he lived. All seats are reserved, and the general public may attend for 4,000 yen, and high school students and younger for 2,000 yen.
