Ensemble Irene France Music of the Dawn of the Flute Unofficial

Ensemble Irene, a duo consisting of traverso player Ikuko Aikawa and theorbo player Asako Ueda, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special concert. The duo will pursue the sound of the baroque flute (flauto traverso), which was loved by the royalty and aristocracy in France during the reign of Louis XIV, and the theorbo, which was used heavily as a basso continuo and solo instrument. The same program as when the group was first formed will be performed by the two musicians of today, who have gained depth after 10 years of playing together.
