Cellist Tatsuru Sasanuma, a graduate of Gakushuin University and Toho Gakuen School of Music, has distinguished himself at a young age by winning numerous competitions in Japan and abroad, and continues to pursue his studies in Europe. Many people who know him today may have an image of him as a soloist, a top prize winner in the string quartet division of the Munich International Music Competition, a member of Quartet Amabile, which has attracted particular attention among young chamber music ensembles, and a guest principal of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
He has performed with Maisky, Argerich, Vengerov, and members of 2CELLOS, and in addition to Quartet Amabile, he is active in chamber music as a member of La Luce Octet, formed by young players of the same generation, and Trio Lisle with Fumika Mohri and Ayako Tahara, and this time he will make a luxurious solo lunch appearance. The music played in duo with Kazuo Irie, a talented pianist trusted by many first-rate players, is already beyond the realm of a young artist, and is sure to create the atmosphere of a mature middle-aged man.
